Logo Contest Help

Hello Illustrators!
To get you extra-inspired & give you some new tools to create a design for the banner/logo contest, here are some suggestions from fellow member & your new assistant Illustrator Coordinator, Stephen Ingram:
1. If you want to be inspired by a master of logo design, then watch this video of:
Aaron Draplin Takes On a Logo Design Challenge. It’s about 16 minutes long, and chronicles a logo challenge he took on for demonstration purposes.
2. Take a look at the logos of some of the chapters of SCBWI. There is some great stuff out there. You can find them here:
3. Finally, maybe you just want to read an article about some of the best logos ever made for inspiration :))
If you have any questions, technical or otherwise, please email us and we would be happy to help.

PS We’ve just learned that illustrator-author Pat Cummings will be judging the contest!

Pat is the author and/or illustrator of over 35 books for young readers.  She also edited the award-winning series, Talking With Artists, which profiles prominent children’s book illustrators. Her children’s book classes at Parsons and Pratt list a growing number of notable illustrator/authors among their graduates.  Pat serves on the boards of The Authors Guild, The Authors League Fund, The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, and The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. Her latest book, Beauty and the Beast (HarperCollins, 2014), was translated from the original French and retold by her husband Chuku Lee.
