Laurie Calkhoven is the author of over 50 books for young readers, including award-winning nonfiction early readers. Before she was a full-time writer, she was the Executive Editor for the Scholastic Book Clubs.
Wiley Blevens is the author of both early reader and first chapter book series. Before he was a full-time writer, he was the Editorial Director at Macmillan/McGraw-Hill.
Katie Carella is the Executive Editor of Scholastic’s Acorn early reader line and Branches early chapter book line. Debbi Michiko Florence is a former classroom teacher and the author of several early chapter book series, including the Jasmine Toguchi books.
Tracey West has written more than 300 books for children, including the bestselling Dragon Masters series for Scholastic Branches.

Editor Tamar Mays runs HarperCollins renowned I Can Read program. Her editorial focus is early childhood, from birth to third grade. She also edits the Let’s-Read-and-Find-Out science series.
Siobhan Ciminera has spent her career in children’s editorial and is currently the Editorial Director for Simon Spotlight, where she oversees Simon & Schuster’s line of beginning readers—Ready-to-Read, as well as all licensed and media tie-in publishing.
Lisa Rao has worked in children’s publishing for over 20 years. She is currently a senior editor at Simon Spotlight, where she edits beginning readers and middle-grade fiction.
