Diving into the #Kidlit World Through Social Media – Whether you’re writing or illustrating picture books, working on your next novel, or polishing your first pitch, social media is a great way to connect with readers – not to mention agents, editors, librarians, booksellers, and new author and artist friends. How can posting, tweeting, tagging, and blogging – or even just observing – enrich your network, help you avoid faux pas, and keep you up on what’s abuzz? Join us with Editor Allison Moore as she shows us how to take your social media savvy to the next level (or if you don’t know where to begin!).

Allison Moore is an Editor at Bloomsbury Children’s Books. Her recent list includes debut Indie Next pick Extraordinary Birds by Sandy Stark-McGinnis, The Storm Keeper’s Island by Catherine Doyle, and New York Times bestsellers Ghost Boys by Jewell Parker Rhodes and Dad By My Side by Soosh. She’s also edited several books by Todd Parr, E. D. Baker, Jennifer Castle, and Sherri Winston, among others. Her sweet spots for novels are contemporary realistic fiction and magical realism, though she enjoys all stories that delve into real feelings, choices, issues, and perspectives in fresh and accessible ways. She loves picture books with original hooks, memorable illustration styles, seasonal promotion potential, and clever humor. You can find her on Twitter @AllisonM610.
