Query letters are often times the first chance an agent will see your writing. How can you make the moment count?

In this workshop Bibi Lewis will share her experiences reading many query letters and teach you how to make your query letter stand out in the right way and avoid standing out the wrong way!

Bibi will go through the most important part of the submission process (hint: it is following the guidelines) and how a good hook can sell a project.

As a group we will decide to either draft a sample query letter or simply field all your questions. Whatever we do, writers will  come away feeling a lot more comfortable with the query letter!

Bio:

Bibi Lewis joined the Ethan Ellenberg Literary Agency in 2014 as an associate agent and subsidiary rights manager. In addition to her duties as an agent she sells foreign and audio rights for agency clients.

As a native New Yorker, she is a fierce patron of the NYPL.
